Assessments play a crucial role in gauging students' understanding, identifying strengths and pinpointing areas for growth.

Dakota Ridge High School’s (DRHS) commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our comprehensive assessment program that goes beyond traditional testing. From formative assessments that guide instruction to summative evaluations that measure overall achievement, we provide an in-depth approach to understanding each student's unique learning journey.

DRHS educators are dedicated to creating an assessment environment that fosters a positive learning experience. At DRHS, assessments are not just about grades; they are tools for empowerment, helping students reach their full potential and preparing them for success in academics and beyond.

Assessments inform instruction and monitor student progress. Assessments should:

• Add value to the student learning experience.
• Engage families in supporting their students.
• Help identify strengths, interests and opportunities for growth for all students.

A collection of assessment results can be used to help set goals, identify priorities and inform equity of access to grade-level learning.

Some assessments are required by federal or state law; see information regarding state assessment participation. Families can refuse participation in state assessments for their students. Contact your student's school if you have questions about test refusals.

Individual schools determine which additional assessments will support their specific student population’s learning. Each school will select specific dates within the district-provided assessment windows.
