1:1 Chromebook Connect

Jeffco 2020 VisionDRHS is committed to preparing students to be college and career ready; communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills are essential to thrive in the 21st century. This is why we  launched a 1:1 Chromebook initiative for each student to have their own device starting with the 2017-18 school year. All students in 9th grade purchased a Chromebook from the school to use for educational purposes. As innovators in this field we have developed our 1:1 program since the fall of 2017.  With each grade level having ongoing access to technology our students  consistently practice and apply  21st century skills and prepare  for a variety of post-secondary options.
Beginning fall of 2019 all 9th graders will receive a Chromebook from the school. Families will no longer purchase the device for their student and retain the device after graduation. Instead, the device will belong to the school and be part of a regenerative program supporting students every four years with a new device.

Benefits of receiving a device from DRHS

Classroom management

One of the biggest concerns for parents and teachers is ensuring the safety of students online and making sure students are actively engaged in class. Chromebooks that are received through the school will have software that allows teachers to monitor all student screens, turn all screens off in order to minimize distractions, and project student work to the front of the room. See video for a demonstration. The LanSchool tool allows teachers to monitor students and manage distractions.
