Bio
I am a Colorado native. My early childhood was spent in Eastern Colorado, and I moved to the Denver area at the age of 7. I am married and have three beautiful children. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, biking and gardening. I have many creative hobbies outside of school. I love baking crazy cakes, making jewelry and crocheting.
I wanted to be a mother and a teacher for as long as I can remember. I have been working in education since I was 21. I began at Lake Middle School in Denver as a paraprofessional. There I tutored kids in reading and writing, worked in the alternative program, had an after school jewelry club and worked in the Special Education program. I worked at Lake for 11 years as I went to college, got married and began my family. I am the first in my family to earn a Bachelor's degree, which is a proud accomplishment for me. I officially began my teaching career in Jefferson County at Two Roads Charter School in 2012. I worked there for five years as a sheltered English teacher for grades 7-12, as well as an advisement and Special Ed. teacher. This is my sixth year with Dakota Ridge. I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing community!
