When will my student receive their Chromebook?
What is a Chromebook and how is it different from a laptop?
Watch video "Introducing the Chromebook".
I already have a device. Can I have my student bring that to school instead of buying one?
All 9th-11th graders will receive a device from the school. The classes of 2022 may bring their own device. However, you should be aware of the minimum requirements for third party devices. Also, there are some major disadvantages to this approach. See the "Devices" page for details.
What happens when my student leaves DRHS?
If a student is part of the TechForEd program or a student has borrowed a device from the school, then their device must be returned to the school. If a student has purchased his/her device, then upon leaving the device will be removed from the Jeffco Domain and the device will then need to be reset. Instructions will be shared at time of student withdrawal.
Can students print from a Chromebook?
Students can print from their school device in the DRHS library.
Can a Chromebook be used offline?
Can I use a phone or an ipad as a device?
How is a Tech4Ed Chromebook repaired?
Tech4Ed Chromebooks are repaired through the district. Dakota Ridge students can bring the device to the library for help. They should first try and troubleshoot on their own using this document as a resource. If the device needs a hardware repair the district will repair it and a fee will be placed on the student account. This is like any other item a student might borrow from school - the school own the device, textbook, library book, but the student is responsible for any damage. If a family would like to purchase Accidental Damage Protection (ADP), they may do this for their student device here. For more information on the ADP please see this document. The ADP is a one-time purchase, but will cover accidental damage for the 4-years your student has this same device. Any questions, please reach out to Ms. Goetz - contact info above.
