Bio
I have been teaching science at Dakota Ridge since the Fall of 2007. The first part of my teaching career here I taught Earth and Environmental sciences. Since 2017 I have been teaching General Chemistry and or Conceptual Chemistry. School year 22-23 was my first year teaching Honors Chemistry. I really enjoyed the change and opportunity to work with honors students and the accelerated content.
I again have the opportunity to teach Environmental science, now as a semester-long course vs. the year-long course I had previously taught. It was a bit of a challenge to condense the class down to a semester, but I feel it will be a good change for the class.
I feel fortunate to be at Dakota Ridge where we have some many dedicated educators and a great student population. The chemistry department here works closely together throughout the year to provide our students a consistent and thorough chemistry course. Our curriculum is designed to provided students with a base knowledge of chemistry to help them be successful at the college level.
I have 2 daughters that have either gone through Jeffco or are currently attending. My oldest daughter graduated in 2021 as a class valedictorian and now attends the Air Force Academy where she is a student athlete playing volleyball as well. My younger daughter is going into her senior year, where she is finding her own path as a student.
