Bio
I am so excited to teach at Dakota Ridge High School this year! This will be my 10th year teaching Spanish in the Denver Metro area.
Spanish is life!!! As a language teacher, I extend classroom learning for students to include culture and real life applications of learning a new language. We focus on using all modes of the language and practice them as well as exploring new cultures and customs of the Spanish speaking world. I strive to provide students with a global understanding of the importance of learning a new language.
Before joining the Eagles community, I worked as a Spanish teacher at Jefferson Jr. Sr. for three years and in the Adams 12 district for 6 years. Prior to my time as a MS/HS teacher, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and traveled all through South America while I taught English in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Traveling has always been an important part of my life and has encouraged my love and passion for the Spanish language and culture to grow.
I'm originally from Telluride, Colorado and have lived in Denver for 11 years. Outside of work, you'll likely find me hiking, skiing, backpacking, biking or climbing.
