Bio
I began teaching at Dakota in 2006 and have taught all levels: Spanish 1 - 5 including regular, honors, IB and AP. Prior to DRHS, I taught Spanish in Texas and Delaware, English as a Second Language (ESL grades 4 to 12) and Bilingual (Grade 6) in Illinois, and English as a Foreign Language (EFL- Grade 4 & University) in Puebla, Mexico. I also worked for a year as a bilingual paralegal assistant in downtown Chicago.
Although I love language, I care more about my students than Spanish! Learning languages is all about creating and enhancing connections relationships with new people and concepts.
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart."- Nelson Mandela
"To have another language is to possess a second soul."- Charlemagne
