Repair costs:

The Lenovo N42 (2017-18) and the Lenovo 100e (2018-19) devices came with a one year manufacturer warranty. If repair is necessary and it is due to a faulty device these costs are no longer covered under warranty. See repair cost list below. An additional $15 labor charge will be added to these costs if the device must be sent in for repair. If the device can be repaired by the DRHS Talon Techies - Cyber Crew there will be no labor fee added.

Families of 10th and 11th graders:
Any Chromebook repairs that are under $100 will automatically be completed and a fee will be added to student accounts. If a repair or replacement parts total more than $100.00 you will be notified before any repairs are completed and approval will be required in order to proceed.  


If the device is damaged due to misuse or accident the repair cost will be the financial responsibility of the family. See Accidental Damage Warranty Insurace information below.

2019-2020 Lenovo 300e devices come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty on defects that will expire August of 2020

*DRHS will send in the device to Lenovo for repair and the students will check out a "loaner" device from the library.

Accidental Damage Warranty Options:
Starting in the fall of 2019 families have the option to purchase Accidental Damage Warranty directly from our distributor. This is a great option! The cost to repair one damaged screen is more than the cost of a 4 year warranty.

What happens if a device breaks or is not working correctly?

These Chromebooks are the student’s responsibility. We HIGHLY recommend a case for the Chromebook and that the device is stored in a safe location when not in use. We will follow the same policy as if you damaged or lost a textbook, or if an item is lost or stolen. If stolen, or damaged by someone else, immediately file a police and incident report in the main office.

 

What to do when your device is not working correctly:

  • Inform you teacher immediately 
  • Visit the library to get further assistance
  • Check in your device for repair and receive a loaner from the circulation desk in the library
